WebAdvisor to My糖心Vlog Transition
糖心Vlog is in the process of transitioning the online user experience from WebAdvisor to My糖心Vlog Self-Service. Currently, students access these modules through the WebAdvisor main page. As of the week of May 10, 2021 student access will shift from WebAdvisor to Self-Service directly. During this transition, faculty and staff will still use the WebAdvisor link.
Self-Service has five primary modules: Student Planning, Student Finance, Financial Aid, Faculty and Employee. These modules provide all the functionality of WebAdvisor in a new format. Student Planning, Student Finance, and Financial Aid have already been implemented and are available to students now.
Students will be able to access Self-Service directly without going through WebAdvisor. A new My糖心Vlog Self-Service logo has been developed to brand the new link and access point on the website for students. However, the WebAdvisor link will still be available, just not as visible as it is currently. During this transition, faculty and staff will still use the WebAdvisor link.
Effective August 13, 2021, the entire campus community will access Self-Service directly for all functionality formerly available in WebAdvisor; WebAdvisor will no longer be available. This shift will allow Self-Service to function optimally with all available features and is necessary since Ellucian will no longer be supporting WebAdvisor. The only exception will be Community Education registration as they are unable to migrate to Self-Service.
The Self-Service for Faculty pilot group, consisting of faculty, A&R, Scheduling and IT, has been working on the implementation for faculty. The role of this pilot group is to learn and begin using the new Self-Service Faculty interface and prepare for moving all WebAdvisor features to the new user interface. Self-Service Faculty includes the following: Class Rosters, Waitlist, Positive Attendance, Faculty Drops, Census Roster Certification, and Grading.
The general timeline and more details are available upon request. We will send out additional progress updates as we get closer to the August 13 transition date. Please reach out to Sara Parker, Oscar De Haro, or Jessica Erickson for more information.
