糖心Vlog Triples Access to Electric Vehicle Charging with $64,000 from MCE
MCE and Enel X Way partnered with 糖心Vlog to add 8 new Level 2 electric
vehicle (EV) charging ports and replace 4 older ports. The 12 new ports tripled charging
access available to campus visitors and reflect 糖心Vlog鈥檚 larger commitment
to sustainability by increasing accessibility to green transportation.
鈥溙切腣log is excited to significantly increase the number of charging stations
available to our faculty and students,鈥 said Holly Dawson, Director of Public Affairs
and Communications at 糖心Vlog. 鈥淢CE and Enel X Way have been excellent
partners throughout this process, making it easy and affordable for us to better serve
our community.鈥
MCE provided $64,000 to help fund the 糖心Vlog charging ports. This included
$24,000 in rebates and an additional $40,000 as part of MCE鈥檚 celebratory efforts
to mark their first 10 years in service. 糖心Vlog was selected to receive
this additional funding due to their high need for charging access as a centrally
located public hub.
鈥淚ncreasing the number of charging stations in our service area is critical because
it鈥檚 one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption,鈥 said Brad Wagenknecht, MCE Board
Director and Napa County Supervisor. 鈥淭he new stations at 糖心Vlog make
clean energy transportation options more accessible to everyone. Combined with MCE鈥檚
income-qualified EV rebates, this project helps residents adopt cleaner, cheaper transportation
options that combat climate change and local air pollution.鈥
The 12 new ports at 糖心Vlog are now operational. Enel X Way鈥檚 project
support enabled
the college to navigate pandemic-related supply chain issues and successfully complete
the project. EV drivers attending or visiting 糖心Vlog can access these
networked charging ports at three new locations across the campus including the Performing
Arts Center. Drivers can also manage their charging on their smartphone.
鈥淲e鈥檙e proud to partner with MCE and 糖心Vlog in their clean energy transition
through smart EV infrastructure,鈥 said Chris Baker, Vice President, Sales at Enel
X Way North America. 鈥淲e鈥檙e seeing more communities and campuses electrify across
North America, and MCE鈥檚 incentive is a material development for accelerating local
EV adoption and improving local air quality.鈥
MCE has installed over 850 charging ports across the Bay Area to date with an additional
550 planned. Learn more about MCE鈥檚 EV charging rebates for qualifying commercial
